...I'm trying to rip an episode of "The Buick-Berle Show", but each time I tried to rip it the attempt failed.

Several times it has stopped shortly before it would have completed the rip (such as at 58 minutes of a 59 minute file).

Strangely, on the first attempt, it simply continued ripping beyond the running length of the title (episode).

Do you by any chance know what might be causing this, and what I could do this fix this? I know for a fact that the DVD-R disc has no copyright protection.

If it stopped at 58 min. in a 59 min. video, I'm guessing that the disk is scratched. If you see any scratches, try polishing them.

I would also try using some other software to see if it can grab the whole 59 min.

(Off topic: When copying copy-protected movies, you occasionally have to skip the first 20 seconds or so.)

The disc isn't scratched. I suppose I might have to use the old software I used, despite the inferior picture quality.

Shame, really.
